Rod & Fly introductory classes offer comprehensive instruction in essential fly fishing skills within 1 hour of Hobart. Rod & Fly offers superb guided fishing tours to the translucent waters of Tasmania’s Central Highlands lakes with lakeside accommodation. Mike Tenner has over 30 years of fly fishing experience.

FLY CASTING TUITION
INTRODUCTION TO FLY FISHING
Our one-day fly fishing class runs from 9 am to 5 pm. In the morning you practice land casting then off to the water to apply what you have learned.

For the 2015/16 Rod & Fly is using Private Lake Facility for its INTRODUCTION TO FLY FISHING
you can fly fish in one of the 4 small lakes to catch plump trout The property is located on over 160 hectares (400 acres) of bushland, tall eucalypt forest, pasture and dams at Nugent a rural district to the south east of Hobart.

Rainbow trout and brown trout inhabit a series of lakes –The fish vary in size from 1kg to over 4kg The fishery is spring-fed.

The fishery is an ideal setting to test newly learnt skills and casting techniques, so that when you are challenged by a slurping brown trout in the wild, you will have the confidence to make that perfect cast.
