Trout Flat Out will assist you in pursuing your Trout fishing passion. Regardless of your skill level we can accommodate everyone from the beginner to the completely obsessed fly rod enthusiast. If casting or trolling lures is more your thing we will give you plenty of options to bag your trout.
Our focus is primarily Trouting in the Central Highland using the Fly Rod. We love casting dry flies to rising Trout, but will always adapt to the conditions on the day. We have access a number of private fisheries for a more personal experience. We also utilise public waters offer the prospect of rises to hatches of Mayflies and terrestrial under the right conditions.
Tuition is available for the absolute beginner or those wanting to improve their fly-casting technique. This can be on an individual or group basis and we would love to see more women accept the opportunity experience this style of fishing.

For those short on time and prefer the salt water, we also offer fishing in the Derwent Estuary. Here you can target Bream Flathead and Australian Salmon using fly or lures.

I have been chasing Trout for over thirty-five years. Fishing Tasmania’s Highland Lakes is where I have spent the majority of my time honing my skills.
