The annual Inland Fisheries Service Trout Weekend is on 19 & 20 May 2018, from 10am - 3pm.
This family friendly event is held at the end of the brown trout season every year in May at Liawenee, on Great Lake.
There are hundreds of brown trout on their annual spawning migration, and visitors can see for themselves, as well as learning how the IFS staff strip the brown trout eggs. IFS staff are available to chat and discuss fisheries management issues, and there is information about our native freshwater species.
The junior angling pond is always popular with the kids, giving them the opportunity to catch a trout.
There are trout cooking and smoking demonstrations, trade stalls, information exhibits, helicopter rides, refreshments and drinks.
Check out here for all the information.
